Whether a couple decides to go big and throw an extravagant wedding at the iconic Plaza Hotel, or stick with a simple and private ceremony at City Hall, there is no wrong way to get hitched in New York.

New York is fabulously rich in gay history. The Stonewall Inn riots that happened in the late sixties are said to be the birth of the modern gay-rights movement. When same-sex marriage was legalized in the States, people flocked to the famous gay bar to celebrate something that was decades in the making.
Places like Christopher Street, the Theatre District, the Harvey Milk School, and the Lesbian Herstory Archives are considered LGBTQ landmarks found throughout the city. Inclusive communities like Hell’s Kitchen and Chelsea have many gay-friendly accommodation options.
New York has a proud gay community that has fought hard to make itself heard and seen throughout the years. Members celebrate their status and to have a gay wedding in this city is to be a part of an ever-growing history that is bringing pride to everyone.
