How to Choose Your Wedding Photographer

Your wedding is fast approaching and you have a ridiculously long list of things to do… including finding the perfect photographer that will be able to capture your particular brand of je ne sais quoi.

How do you find that photographer? Ideally, they’d be referred. If you can’t get referrals, start stalking looking for them online.  The most important attribute of any photographer is that they’re easy to work with. No two photographers are the same, so it’s important to find one that gets you. I mean, really gets you… right to your crusty core. If you share the same personality vibe, that’s a bonus.

It’s also important to ask them to see a complete portfolio. Not just a few of the fancy photos they have on their website, but all the shots (beginning to end) for at least two weddings.

After that, drill them with the questions. What does their contract entail? Do they have liability insurance? What’s their backup plan? How much equipment do they have? Cost? Contingencies? Etc. etc.

Once you’ve found the perfect fit for you, lock them down with the date and don’t look back.
