Our Story
How We Met
We met through friends out at a London gay bar called Lavish. I was introduced to Trisha by one friend in particular named Megan Somma. We went on many dates and Trish says I played hard to get. Lmao Well she won my heart and has loved me unconditionally from the first day we meet. I feel in love with her personality, her kind heart and her passion in life.
Trisha proposed to me on October 24th 2016 on a little getaway we decided to take to Pittsburgh. I had no idea what she had planned. She proposed at the Phipps Conservatory And Botanical Gardens. It was absolutely stunning.
Since I knew she would also like a ring herself I decided to do my own proposal. We had plan to go to a Bruno Mars concert so I had planned to do it then. I made a tank top with the lyrics on it saying: ‘Hey baby I think I want to marry you’. I wore a shirt over top and when Bruno sang that song I revealed the shirt and gave her the ring. Even though she had already proposed she was so grateful for this moment.
We both came up with the idea of having a State Fair themed wedding. For us the most important things was for our guests to come, relax and have an amazing time. We didn’t want it to be over traditional. We encouraged people to come in comfortable attire. For us having a ceremony outdoors was important.
We had fun carnival type games for people to enjoy at cocktail hour such as High striker, Pop Shop bottles and rings for ring toss, Caricaturist, and a magician.
To thank our guests we ordered three different types of popcorn and three different types of cotton candy.
My favourite wedding memory would have to be the big reveal. We had no clue that this was even a thing until Liza brought it to our attention. We decided to do this and see each other before the ceremony. Trisha waited at the end of the long driveway with the sun shining and beautiful land surrounding. She had her back to me and I slowly walk towards her. As I got close I said her name she turned around smiled and cried as a I continued to make my way. I gave her the biggest hug and kiss and was so happy in that moment. It was the best decision we made because it was more intimate, we weren’t as nervous and we had a moment to ourselves before the guests arrival and ceremony. We had more time to spend with our guests at cocktail hour also.
