Same-sex Marriage Legal in Slovenia starting TODAY

After many twists and turns on the way to equality legislation, on April 21, 2016, the Slovenia Assembly approved a new same-sex marriage bill. That law became effective today, February 24, 2017. It’s a big step forward for a central European country, although there is still some distance to travel before same-sex couples rights are truly equal in Slovenia. But for now, we’ll take the win. Congratulations Slovenians, let the weddings commence!
