TIPS FOR A RAINY WEDDING DAY

Every couple wants their wedding to be perfect, especially if it’s an outdoor ceremony. A rainy forecast can throw a wrench into the initial plans, but there are plenty of ways to embrace the bad weather and create a wonderful day.

HAVE A BACKUP PLAN
Frolicking in the rain isn’t for every couple, so a back-up plan should be in place. When looking at venues, questions should be asked about indoor spacing or on-site tents that can be erected in case of rain. If they don’t have any options available, it may not be the best place to book an outdoor wedding. If a couple falls in love with a venue without these options, they can always put a hold on a tent just in case.

ACCESSORIZE
Couples should keep an eye on the weather forecast as early as possible to leave themselves enough time to prepare for rain. Guests can be informed to come equipped with umbrellas and the couple can purchase matching rain boots. The best thing to remember is that water won’t hurt the wedding outfits.

INTERVIEW THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Rain shouldn’t mean compromised wedding pictures. The photographer should know what to do in case of rain and come properly prepared. Lighting techniques can be used to create exquisite pictures, using the rain as a prop instead of an obstacle. The photographer should also bring towels to dry off places to sit.

EMBRACE IT
Just go with it. It’s still the day for a couple to declare their love for each other in front of their friends and family. Not even hurricane-force winds can take that away. Keeping that in mind will make the whole day seem magical no matter what the weather is.
