WEDDING FLOWER ALTERNATIVES
Although usually seen as classic, wedding flowers can be overdone. They are used as a staple, but don’t allow for a couple to express their personalities or the wedding’s theme. There are lots of other unique choices to use for décor other than flowers a couple can use that will enhance the venue and even the ceremony itself.
FEATHERS
Couples that want to create a more dramatic mood for their wedding can use feather trees as centerpieces. Bold colours can be used to grab attention or white can be used to accent the room. Feather bouquets are another way to go, with extra pizzazz added by applying fake pearls or bright bouquet jewels.
SHELLS
Using shells in a wedding is a unique personal touch. Whether the ceremony is on a beach or the reception has a mermaid theme, shells can be used as centerpieces, placed in bouquets, or even used as boutonnieres. The different shapes, textures, and colours bring personality to the big day and they can be combined with other beach elements, like with starfish and sand dollars, for a more ocean-like feel.
DECORATIVE STONES
Although people may think they will provide a rough edge to the wedding, stones can create a soft atmosphere and are fun to use for an outdoor ceremony. Smaller, rounded stones can be used to put a twist on the guest book, and can also be accented with long-grown grass as centerpieces for a nature-inspired reception.
