WHY IT’S OKAY TO ELOPE
Far from the old concept of climbing down a ladder with a packed suitcase and seemingly “sneaking away”, the idea of eloping is becoming more popular as people start to favour the no muss, no fuss approach to weddings. If a couple likes the idea but needs an extra push, there are a few things to consider.
WEDDING COSTS
When a couple elopes they are able to get married for a fraction of the cost. Most elopements are simple with very little details. The newly married pair can take all of the money saved and put it towards an investment like a home or vehicle.
AVOID STRESS
It usually takes a year to plan a wedding with a hundred small details to look after all at once. It’s common for the couple to take on more responsibility than they can handle and tensions are high. The decision to elope can melt stress away, with everything done quickly and very few choices to make.
DESTINATION
Couples sometimes have a place in the world that is very meaningful to them, like where they first met or where they got engaged. If that is where they want to be married, eloping is a great option. Destination weddings are a lot of ask of guests, but quietly eloping to that special place is romantic and meaningful.
INTIMACY
Sometimes a couple can get lost in a big wedding. With family members, wedding parties, and stress to keep them busy, there isn’t enough time for the two to be alone with each other. Eloping is an intimate affair and a couple can make it personal and not worry about anyone else.
